The not-so-masculine wolf raised his eyebrows in the slightest. In all honesty, it wasn't in intentional thing, just something he did at nervousness to make him seem somewhat aloof but concerned enough. A slight breeze tickled his senses, and made him come to reality again, to the she-wolf looming before him. Perhaps some thoughtless cliche sentence that all the males would use? No, no, he needs to make an impact. Something poetic, maybe? He was not good at poetry. He took note of Emiko's facial expressions, and it seemed she was just as lovestruck as himself. She said the words almost daintily, actually. Perhaps she wanted to see his true feelings as well? Kaeso decided this would be the best approach, the previous thoughts of Lya just whispers in the wind. Emiko was his priority now.
"After I get acquainted with your friends, do you think we can, possible, spend some time alone?" Kaeso cajoled quietly. The phrase was rather laid back, but meant much more in this situation. His success would be a wonderful thing, his future afterwards would be even better. The male was quite proud of himself, really. He had made it this far without becoming either awkward or extremely hormonal. The female had taken a liking to him from the start, which was a first.
Meanwhile, Lya was not so happy. While she didn't want to reprimand Emiko for stealing away Kaeso, the other side of her did. She had actually felt the feeling of what she presumed to be love. Now, all that was taken away by a seductive female. She didn't hear Kaeso's request, and kept quiet and somber. The breeze that seemed to startle Kaeso had absolutely no effect on her, except the fact that it seemed to be the winds of change.

ooc; All my posts feel really insignificant compared to yours. XD
Emiko was really surprised. Never before had a wolf done this to her, but even she knew that it was moving fast. Which was... Good. This would be a lot easier than what she had planned, which involved months of courting and soft lashes. "That... That would be nice." She whispered, realizing that she had moved closer to Kaeso. Shaking herself inside, she sternly promised one thing. 'I will not fall for this wolf. He is merely a pawn in my games.'

Kaeso's eye brightened with her acceptance. Thing's were moving fast between them, those two love struck wolves. He had, ultimately, fallen for Emiko. How this happened, he no longer knew. He was simply living in the moment, nothing more, nothing less. Everything in the last few moments had flashed by. His encounter with Lya, all the Kylarad wolves, but Emiko. Emiko reappeared in every single one the moments. Looking at him, speaking to him. It was amazing how fast a stranger could come into your life. It was also amazing how attractive they could be. With a quick flick of the tail and a small nod at Emiko, he began in the opposing direction of the oaks, waiting for the female to follow. She would know what he was doing.
On the outside, he was a halcyon wolf, but on the inside, his heart was pounding. This would be the moment that defined their relationship. He had long ago abandoned companionship, but this was much, much more. Despite this, though, mates were superior to friends. As a vagabond, he had learned much. That was one of the thing's he learned. He had some friends that found mates and left him for them. He could see why, now. His eyes settled on a nice quiet spot with a small aspen tree and a bush. Perfect to conceal the two from prying eyes. The male sat down in wait for Emiko.
Lya, on the other hand, tried her best to pay absolutely no heed to the pair leaving the area. To be honest, though, it was hard for her not to. Emiko had just stolen what was possibly the love of her life. The moments afterwards seemed like an eternity. Staring at the trees, the dying grass, the sky. Everything was deprived. Everything

Ooc; don't feel like posting in my den...
Vilk padded in from his den. He had a nice nap after the healer had left. He noticed a new wolf but ignored them. Now the thirst was really getting to him. He had no knowledge of the water sharing. He laid against the trunk of a tree and watched the scene in front of him unfold.

Ahava smiled lightly as she watched the pair go with a light smile and yet another dip of her head and thought, Oh, that's good. They seem happy. Maybe this pack does need more pairs. But then she caught sight of Lya. She didn't look very well. Upset, maybe. And so Ahava softly approached the wolf and, nudging her lighly, asked, "Hi, Lya. Are you alright?" Ahava knew that Lya would probably say yes even thought it may not be true, but maybe she could help by asking anyway.

Yanah sat quietly and watched the events unfold. This newcomer was quite the dramatic, it seemed. Or rather, he caused a lot of drama. She laid down and rested her head on her paws, her gaze traveling back and forth between Emiko and Lya. There would most definitely be tension between them now. She didn't really understand what they saw in him- he wasn't anything special. Then again, that was how love worked right? She rumbled quietly as he began to praise her Tiritus. He was going to get her riled up, when all he was doing was sweet talking! Most females would flip head over tail for someone who complimented them, not thinking twice about whether or not they actually liked the male. This was clearly happening to Emiko, apparent by her sudden embarrassment and willingness to go after him. As they left she turned her gaze back to Lya, who was no doubt feeling some sort of pain right now. It was clear that she had taken a liking to him as well. With a huff Yanah rolled onto her side, thoughts of her own mate filtering in unbidden. Where was Helios? Had he abandoned the packs all together and not said good bye? Had someone killed him in the fight? Ignoring everyone else she continued to lay there, wishing in a juvenile way that she could've spent more time with him. It wasn't fair.

Emiko paused, unsure for the smallest second. Should she continue after this wolf? Her paws seemed to answer the question before she even had a chance to think, for she found herself padding quickly after Kaeso. Passing Lya, Emiko kept her head down, not wanting to look at her.
Once in the clearing, she realized why Kaeso chose it. It was pretty, quiet, and secluded, yet close to the pack. "I..." She began, trailing off. She honestly did not have a clue to what she should say.
ooc; Is Kaeso in Kylarad officially? And when should the Usdi thing happen?

((Usdi thing? /shot/ Anyway, he's been generally accepted but isn't quite officially in Kylarad.))
Kaeso smiled a bit, hoping the friendly approach would work better instead of the aloof act he was going for previously. He took his seat in front of the bush that concealed the pair. The breeze had picked up a bit, rusting both his fur and the brush around them in a soft way. He heard Emiko begin speaking, and turned his head to her and raised his eyebrows a bit. He really was curious of what she was going to say. She had just cut herself off, though. Was she insecure around him? He sure hoped not, he had tried his best to make her feel, well, how he felt. Just to make small talk, he asked a question.
"How're things going in your pack?" he asked. To be honest, he knew the answer, but just wanted to start a conversation. The breeze slowed down a bit, but it felt rather nice so he just enjoyed the cool while it was still there. Actually, this might have been one of the best days of the wolf's life, if he hadn't been so deprived of water. He supposed that would be another bright side of joining Kylarad. Although his days of watching the animals and living freely were nearing their end, that didn't exactly mean his liberty was completely taken. There would probably be more up-sides to pack life than downsides. He'd probably live longer, too.
Lya noticed Emiko's shyness of looking at her first, and Ahava's question second. The female lifted her head up lackadaisically, and found her eyes to be crusted over. She closed her eyes tight then quickly jerked them open, her gaze meeting with Ahava's legs. She straightened herself up and finally had the will to answer the question. "To be honest, I'm not," Lya replied solemnly. Her eyes flicked to the direction of the pair and back multiple times, seeking for any sign of Kaeso's declining Emiko.
Emiko. Obviously Emiko knew what she was doing, didn't she? No, no, Emiko was just a lovestruck wolf who was more attractive than she. Nothing more, nothing less. Thoughts of Emiko plotting all this filtered through others. The breeze began to slow, now, and it felt much better. Her fur rustling everywhere began to irk her greatly, because it would make her itch. Even fleas didn't bother her that much, although most of them had probably ridden themselves off her deprived body and attached themselves elsewhere. Sort of like lone wolves, in a sense.

Ahava was relieved that Lya was honest with her. She replied with the only response she could think of. "Um," she said softly, "will it help to tell me about it?" Just then Ahava noticed how Lya kept glancing at Kaeso and Emiko. Could he be the problem? Come to think of it... His isolative attitude when he threw Lya off for Emi, it was a little dramatic and unnessesary... But, no. I cant jump to conclusions. With that, she shook out her thoughts so she could concentrate on Lya.

Lya tried to meet her eyes with her fellow Satrap's, but couldn't quite make herself do that. She was, in all honesty, too depressed for that. Her eye's began to droop, but she quickly reprimanded herself and willed herself to be strong. Kylarad didn't need a depressed leader, and Lycaon didn't need a chance to attack. After all, a leader is its pack. Lya's breaths began to be shallow and choppy, and she really needed something to eat. Perhaps some solo hunting in a few minutes wold take her mind off of things. The smaller animals still lingered about, too, probably clinging onto the hope of water as they, the wolves, were.
She began to wonder how long the drought had actually lasted so far. A couple of weeks, probably. Although the days were so long it might have felt that way. All she knew was that if there was no water, there was no hope of surviving here. Lya only wished the storm building inside her was real. She heard Ahava's words, and knew that she should answer, although, she was rather reluctant to do so. The beige wolf was her friend, and though she trusted her, she wanted to keep her feelings inside for now. So, for the time being, she replied with a simple, "Maybe later, Ahava. But, thank you for the offer,"

Emiko shook her head. "Not well. We've been forced to pair with Lycaon to get water. This drought doesn't look like it's going to let up any time soon..." She trailed off, finding herself speaking easy with this newcomer. Gazing up at Kaeso, Emiko smiled. "But... One good thing has happened, even though it feels different than anything I have done before."

Ajax, in an unusually bouncy mood, felt like easing the tension. He didn't have to be grown up to feel it- the wolves around him had it in their body postures. His mother was sprawled on the ground like someone had tossed her there, Vilk was moping under the trees and Lya wouldn't even look at Ahava. He huffed in a determined way, trotting into the center of the clearing. As loud as his little voice would carry he sang, "Trees, trees, they have lots of bark, if you eat the leaves, you're bound to fart!" He dashed off in an instant, Yanah on his heels with a stiff reprimand in mind.

Heraclea raised an eyebrow at her brother's singing. "That's not going to make anyone feel better," she snapped at him bossily. She couldn't believe how immature he was acting! Out of pure annoyance she sprang to her feet and tackled him, chewing one of his ears gently.

Ajax was tackled out of Yanah's reach by his sister, who began to gnaw his ear. "Well I wouldn't feel better if I was farting either," he said haughtily, rolling over on top of her and tugging on her tail with his teeth
Yanah caught up to him but, thinking better of it, shook her head and walked away. She couldn't help but have a small smile on her face. He was quite the little rascal lately.

Heraclea refused to let her brother get the best of her so she quickly flipped onto her back and kicked his snout hard with her hind foot. It had the intened effect and he let go of her tail, freeing her to get back on her paws, shake the dust from her pelt and charge back in with a head-on approach.
