Pandora watched silently as Armell quickly disposed of Fotia. Amber eyes flashing red in the glare from the sun, the black wolf silently backed away, adding the incident to her trove of information. In the mean time, she was now co-leader with Armell, if her calculations were correct, and she had a new den to move into.

After leaving the bright meadow with it's long, waving grass, Claudius made for the forest. He instantly felt more comfortable as he left the open field for the shade of the trees and the scents of the forest washed over him. The soil was warm on his pads as he walked and patches of sunlight spotted his fur as he limped ever deeper into the trees. But something was wrong here. It was too quiet for a beautiful afternoon such as this. Typically on a warm summer's day there would be birds singing in the trees and the rustling of creatures in the undergrowth, but today there was an apprehensive sort of silence, almost as if the whole wood was holding it's breath. Claudius soon understood why. A soft breeze brought a scent to his nose that he recognised only too well. Along with the sun-baked scent of the earth and the heavy musk of moss mingled the metallic, rusty smell of fresh blood. Overcome with curiosity, Claudius followed his nose to the scent and sure enough, there amongst the greenery was a dramatic scene. A lovely white she-wolf soaked in her own blood lay dead on the ground. Blood was still oozing from a neat wound in her neck. Whoever had killed her had been well versed in the art of assassination. With renewed suspicion, Claudius searched the area for clues on what might have occured, but the scent of blood was still so strong in his nose it was impossible to sniff for any suspects. It seemed the perfect crime, or so Claudius thought. But still, he thought he should alert somewolf to the dead body. It seemed no one had found her yet. And so it was that Claudius contined deeper into Lycaon territory, searching for someone to alert to the murder of a wolf on her own territory.

Claudius led the way back though the forest where the body of the dead wolf was still lying. "D-do you k-k-know her?" he enquired, watching the healer's expression closely.

Elektra followed in right behind the stuttering wolf. Her expression turned to horror as she saw who lay there. Their leader, ex-leader, Fotia laid there. "Y-yes... I know her..." She said, stuttering herself. She had no idea what to do. "This is Fotia... Our Kinigo.. Or.. uh.. She used to be..." She looked up to the sky and let out a long, loud howl in hope that the others would come. Maybe they could even figure out who killed the she-wolf. She sniffed the air, but found no scents. It had taken too long for her to find this wolf. She turned to Claudius. "How did you find her?"

As if on cue, Armell appeared on the scene. "What in blazes is going on? I- " she cut off, rehearsed surprise taking over her features as she took in Fotia. "What.. Who.. How?" She stuttered, looking from Elektra to the strange wolf. "Who's this chap? Did he kill her? Poor gel, prob'ly never even saw it comin." Behind her mask she was quietly relishing this. It was about time they knew her power.

Claudius flicked his ears back in discomfort as the healer loosed a long, high-pitched howl. He had never been fond of loud noises, but there were more pressing matters to discuss. "I-I-I'm a wanderer," explained Claudius nervously, "I-I-I'm actully in need of a-a-a pack to j-join, but I su-s-suppose now isn't a g-g-good time for th-that." He had just finished his explination when the strange-accented wolf appeared and started rapid firing questions at him. Startled, he backed up, tail between his legs and attempted to defend himself, the rising panic in his chest causing his stutter to become almost unintelligible. "N-n-n-n-no. . . I-I-I-I wa-s ju-s-s-t. . ." he couldn't continue.

"What? Fotia died. Who? We may never know, but i feel it was betrayal. Kylarad is done with fighting for now, i believe. They need to recover just as much as us. How? Well..." Elektra glanced around the dead wolf, then examined the wolf herself. After a good 15 minutes she stood. "It looks like the wolf landed onto her back, then ripped out her throat. Not a pretty death..." Elektra looked glumly to Fotia. "Well, Armell i can say with confidence it wasn't this wolf. He seemed pretty scared when he found me and told me. Who do you think killed Fotia?"

"Allow me," said Pandora, materalising suddenly from the shadows of the trees, "to shed some light on this grisly matter." Pausing for affect, she looked once at each of the wolves present before finally locking her gaze on Armell. "This was not the work of a wolf, but of some other foul beast," she explained smoothly. "If you look closely at the wound, you can tell that no wolf would have been able to inflict this kind of damage, the puncture wounds are simply too deep. A bear, maybe, could do this kind of damage." Pandora knew that by explaining the murder in this way would instantly draw suspicion towards herself, but it would also earn her the trust of Armell which was far more usuful to her than the trust of her lower ranked packmates. And of course, as the saying goes: it is far better to be feared than loved.

Elektra turned to Pandora. She never fully trusted this wolf. She always seemed to be up to something. "Why are there no bear tracks, or other animals? Clearly, this is a recent attack. It didn't take place too long ago. I've searched this whole area for any kind of track, and i only found wolf prints. Which doesn't help us find the killer, as many wolves have passed through here, in Kylarad and Lycaon..." Elektra noticed a glint of knowledge in Pandora's eyes. "Pandora, what do you know? You know something that I do not. And i would be pleased if you told me what that was."

Armell chuckled mirthlessly as the newcomer began to sputter. "Definitely wasn't him, he can barely talk." She was about to make a comment when her co-leader made an appearance behind her. Armell's expression faltered. Sure, the others would believe her over Pandora, but did the sly little mind actually have the moxy to try and blame her? Inwardly she sighed with relief as she made it out to be a bear attack. Quickly she put in, "Quite, perhaps a grizzly bear come down from Mount Unole? I hear they're everywhere up there." She glanced at Pandora questioningly. Perhaps she was content with the arrangement? Probably not, but at least if she was trying to gain her trust she wouldn't try to kill Armell. Maybe she was genuinely including Armell? Confused, she glanced back at the body.

"Once again, i tell you, Armell, there are no bear tracks any where around here. There have been no sightings of bears in the territories, either. Wherever the bears are, they're keeping to themselves, and not picking off out leaders." Elektra noticed another glint of knowledge from the accented wolf. She let it go, as she wanted to know what Pandora knew. "Pandora, please elaborate on your vast amount of knowledge."

Pandora smiled condescendingly at the healer and began to speak. "Elektra, it hasn't rained for days. The soil is loose and dusty, plus there's a breeze. Any prints would have been erased by the wind," Pandora explained and to prove it she s.tood and made a print in a patch of dirt and blew air gently over the print. Sure enough the little puff of air was enough to blow the dust and cover the print.
Claudius, still on edge, overcame his fear long enough to watch Pandora's display. Being a stranger in the territory, he had nothing to add to this point of view.

"Then sightings. Some wolf would have come running out of the woods howling their head off if they saw a bear, Pandora. Also, our territory isn't that big. Some one would have heard it." Elektra looked Pandora straight in the eye. She turned to Claudius. "Claudius, what do you think truly happened?"
