ooc; They prefer the night, but they can come out during the day. I was just going to have an attack on Jack, Mat, and Josh happen.

Talia accepted the sword back with a shrug. "It isn't best to stay here. Where there was once civilization, there's bound to be the reincarnations of the dead. We'll have better luck in the woods where no one can find us and the roof won't mysteriously cave in on us," she explained, walking down the road and expecting the girl to follow. "What's your name? I don't believe we had a formal greeting. I'm Talia."

Robin wasn't quite sure where she was but she knew other people where around. Koda made small barks and growls for only her ears. Yes someone or someones was near but for now the only question was if they were infected or not and If they were safe. She kept walking forward ears listening for the slightest hint on who she was dealing with. Her fingers trialled along the walls of the old buildings while her eyes were closed. A louder bark from Koda and she knew they were close. Might as well try, "Hey! Anybody out there?" this could be good or end with her running blindly in the other direction. Ooc: sorry for any weird type-o wrote this on my cell.

"Mat, you coming?" Jack called, waiting.
Katie nodded, following Talia. "I'm Katie. Nice to meet you." Katie said, looking forward to the forest. "I've lived in the city all my life... The forest will be a big change..." She murmured, trailing off.

((Andraste dear, most of my posts are from my phone. Like this one.))
Talia nodded. "It isn't as bad as you'd think. Animals rarely show up, which is good when it comes to bears and bad when it comes to deer and rabbits. This is going to sound rude, but do you have any food? We need to pool supplies. I have a box of twinkies." She had a lot worked out, oweing to the fact that they needed to be prepared for anything. Adjusting the pistol in her pocket, she judged the distance between themselves and the forest. "We can rest once we hit the tree cover."

Jack les the way down through his old neighborhood. Storefronts were bashed in, houses toppled over, and garbage lay piled in the gutter. It was a sad sight to see. Up ahead was the local food and general store, it's tall sign cracked along the front. "We can look in there."
Katie nodded. "We could camp in a clearing. I have a tarp and some string in my backpack." She said, patting her satchel.

"Sounds good to me. The forest provides food enough, if you know where to look," Talia explained, ducking a tree branch as they entered the woods. So this girl had some wits about her, good to know. She hoped that she also could go a while without food, because they'd have to ration themselves. Talia had been sent to military school as a child- her parents didn't like her attitude. Her attitude was the same now, but she also had basic survival training.

Mat nodded to their leader. "I say whoever has the best weapon goes in first. I got a crappy old knife."

"I got a switch blade. It's probably sharp enough to cut through bread, not zombie flesh," he stated, flicking out the little knife and holding it to his skin to demonstrate.

Jack held his large kitchen knife in his hand, chuckling. "I guess I will go in here first. You guys, stay next to each other, watch my back." He said, not used to bossing people around. Jack ducked his head under the low doorway, peering into the inky black. "Here goes nothing..." He whispered, crouching while quickly darting over to the counter on the wall. Shuffling sounded from the back area of the store, and Jack swallowed hard, heart picking up.
Katie cracked her knuckles. "So, what do you think we'll find to eat in the woods? Bear poop and feathers?" She joked, smirking.

Robin heard no reply at first. So waited for a moment a sing drop of sweat forming then slipping down alongside her temple. No answer so need to stick around. The young girl didn't have any weapons. They would be pointless if she couldn't aim. Still she wasn't feeling safe at the moment, standing here like a sitting duck for someone to come along and eat her flesh. Sighing she nudged Koda along. "Let’s find somewhere safe." She whispered to her friend. He led her along some stores before barking softly at one. They were near the back entrance. Slowly making her way she found the backdoor open. "Hello?" She whispered. Stepping in she waited a moment before hearing something close by. Koda started to whine. Then growl. This wasn't good. She knew exactly what was in the back with her. All she heard was scuffling and then a thump. Maybe someone was in the front of the store. Koda barked and growled but she knew it was no good. Robin screamed fear leaking into every part of her mind there was someone infected back here.

Jack leapt several feet into the air, the hair on the back of his neck standing straight up. Crouching lower, Jack began to move between the aisles. Soon, the shuffling sound stopped, and Jack froze. Sweat dripped down his back, making him shiver. Peeking around the corner, a hideous beast crouched, peeking around the corner of the next aisle. The scream had sounded from there. "Hey!" He yelled, drawing the attention to him. The beast slowly turned around. But only it's head. Jack was filled with such disgust that he backtracked into the shelves, knocking them over. The creature continued to move, and soon, it's boil covered limbs were reaching to Jack.
