Wohali trotted quietly around the hills, ears perked and tail stiff. He stopped and quickly scanned the area for any sign of a rabbit. Nothing here today. Feeling a little disappointed, he continued onward.

Noquisi watches wohali trot away, and sniffs the air. She smells the flowers sweet perfume and wrinkles her nose in distaste. Noquisi looks in the direction of the creek and pads away towards it.

Trying to shake off his uncomfortable feeling, he looked around the hills for a mouse or a rabbit. Well she can think what she wants to think. Still a bit put off with Ahava, he continued his search, finally spotting two rabbits hopping about. Focusing on the larger rabbit, he crouched down in the tall grass, and bolted at the rabbit at fast as he could. The larger rabbit began to make an escape, but was too late. The wolf snatched the rabbit's neck in his mouth and the rabbit (after a few shakes) eventually went limp. Wohali watched as the smaller and luckier rabbit darted into a hole.

The wolf headed back to the place he found the rabbit. After a while of searching for prey, he decided that he wouldnt find anything good here today. He trotted toward the circle of oaks

Yanah ran through the forest until there was no more forest to run through. She collapsed heaving on her side, gasping for breath. She had run at least 2 miles away from the Circle of Oaks, and she hadn't stopped. Huffing, she curled as tightly as she could into a ball and pitied herself. Why can I not stay in one mood for one day? Why must I be this way? Biting her lip, Yanah quaked with self loathing and yet self pity. What kind of leader was she? Always running off, never speaking, she was barely fit to lead herself. As she lay there, the storm worsened, and she welcomed it's cleansing drops.

Noquisi trotted up to the top of the hill and stared around at the beautiful view of the creek and the surrounding territory. She went to breathe in a fresh gulp of air coming down the creek, but instead gagged on a mouthful of the scent of the surrounding flowers. She hated sweet scents like that. The only sweet scent she liked was the sweet scent of prey. Looking back to the way she came, she saw small paw prints leading to thickest part of clover, near the other end of the hill. As she was padding along the footprints, rain started falling. She rejoiced, but then realized, it washes away scents, so it'll be harder to smell the prey. Noquisi picked up the pace to find the rabbit before the rain washed everything away, and saw Yanah lying quivering on the ground. She ran over and, seeing her breathing, trotted back away after the rabbit. I hope she feels better, she thought, I love the rain, but that's no place to rest, she could get sick, even though it was summer. Noquisi soon found the rabbit and made a neat kill. She then trotted back over to Yanah, ripped off a leg, left it on the ground in front of her, and trotted back to her den.

Yanah's eyes flickered as the rabbit leg fell with a thud before her. Watching Noquisi walk away, she sat up and ate the leg gratefully. She shook her fur free of rain, and sighed. This was no way to behave, and she knew better. Thunder boomed overhead, and Yanah walked after Noquisi into the forest.

From out of the trees, Apricus was greeted with the sweet smell of lilac. He cautiously stepped out of the forest and onto a hill covered with dying summer lilac plants. Their scents grew stronger as he walked, crushing the delicate flowers beneath his large paws. "This place must be hopping with rabbits," he said to himself quietly. The heavy floral scent perfumed the air and choked out the smells of prey; the belly high stalks would keep a rabbit warren hidden from view. Apricus decided that tracking by sound would be the best method of hunting in this particular arena. Apricus crouched until the purple flowers were tickling his nose, and listened intently. It wasn't long before his keen hearing picked up the sounds of a small animal moving through the tall plants nearby. He crawled forward on his belly until he was close enough to the rabbit to pick up it's scent. He got into position, bunched his muscles, and dashed from his hiding place. His heavy paw made contact with the side of the rabbit's head, stunning it, and he finished the job with a quick nip to the brown creature's neck.

Noquisi padded out of the woods and saw the kill. "Great kill, Apricus. That was a good tactic to use hearing instead of smell." Noquisi wrinkled her nose as the smell of flowers wafted into her direction.

"Thanks," said Apricus through a mouthful of fur. "Would you like some rabbit?" he offered.

Noquisi shook her head. "Nope. Its all yours. Thanks though." She sat down in the flowers and plucked one. She stared at the lilac and sighed. "Do you like this perfumery smell?"

"Not particularaly," said Apricus flopping down and biting into his rabbit, which also tasted like the flowers, but he was hungry enough to continue eating it.

Astra padded in, weaving through tall patches of grass. Seeing Apricus and Noqusi, the golden wolf's heart leaped with pleasure. "Hey guys!" She called, bounding towards them.

Yanah approached the group and offered a smile. "Apricus, I do believe a promotion is in order?" She asked, certain of his rank.

(reminded me of Dumbledore: "Assuming my calculations are correct, I believe a change of decoration is in order.")
"'Ello, Astra," Apricus greeted the oddly coloured wolf. "What are you asking me for? You're the leader," he chuckled to Yanah before standing proudly, barely able to contain his excitement.
