Heraclea flattened her ears as her brother snapped at her. "A-ajax. . . " she said quietly, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. She didn't know how to react to his sudden change in character. He'd always been so even tempered. She must have really messed up to make him snap like that. "I-I" she couldn't get the words out. Was she sorry? She wasn't sure. . . she hadn't meant to offend him, but a hard knot of pride in her stomach refused to let her apologise. Torn, the pup backed up slowly before turning around and fleeing the scene, not going anywhere in particular, just letting her paws carry her far away from her brother.

Ajax tucked himself tighter into a ball, hunching his shoulders. He was not going to feel sorry for her. It wasn't fair, she should be apologizing to him! Not the other way around. So she could run off all she wanted, he would not be chasing after her. Covering his muzzle with a paw, he tried to ignore the pain welling up in his chest. She was always mean, so it wasn't right that when he finally stood up for himself he should have to apologize.

Noquisi was gaping like a fish at the pup's sudden outburst. A soft noise came out of her maw but no words came to her tongue. Struggling to find her course of action, she managed to stutter out, "Is this true, Ajax? Has Heraclea been bossing you around for a long time?" Noquisi did not know what it felt like to be bossed around because everyone in the pack was so nice to her, but she could imagine the anger and frustration. The ealer stepped forward carefully, sitting down next to the smaller wolf. "It's alright. It will be okay." She comforted, concern twisting her face into a sad frown.

Ajax lifted his head to look at Noquisi, almost quizzically. She didn't know? How could she not know? "Yeah," he sniffed, swiping at his face with a paw. It wasn't clear if he was crying, or just scratching. "She's always mean to me. It's not fair," he said, feeling sorry for himself. When she sat next to him, he crawled to lay between her front paws. He wasn't that small anymore, but he was feeling upset and wanted to be consoled.

Noquisi brought her paws in closer around the pup, trying to comfort Ajax as best as possible. 'I'm sorry that this is true. But you did the right thing in finally telling her what the deal was. Sometimes, wolves need a little jolt of reality to realize that they're causing so much pain. You are not in the fault for hurting Heraclea, but maybe you should go say you were sorry for yelling? She might take that as a cue to apologize for all of this." Noquisi advised, thinking for a moment. "You two are very close. You shouldn't let something, even something big, get in the way of a fantastic relationship. Someday it just may be the two of you and wouldn't it be nice to have someone to talk to?" Noquisi said, not sure if she wanted Ajax to answer.

Frustrated, Heraclea slowed to a stop. She wasn't exactly sure where she was, but she didn't particularly care either. Panting from her run she took shelter under a tree from the rain as pieces of conversations bounced around her skull. She'd always considered herself the leader between herself and her brother and she wasn't about to let Ajax change that. He thought she was being mean to him? Hadn't she just asked him to decide where they should go exploring? In what way was that mean!?! The whole thing just made her want to bury her face in the mud.

Ajax tried to press himself as close as possible to Noquisi, frowning at her wisdom. He knew she was right, he just wished she wasn't. Maybe he hadn't needed to yell, but at least he had stuck up for himself. His eyes grew wide at the thought of losin Heraclea. He didn't want that! He stood, shaking leaves from his pelt and reaching up to bump her nose with his own. "You're right," he said, twitching an ear. "Thanks Noquisi, I'll go apologize now," he said, dashing off after his sister.
