Heraclea wrinkled her nose in concentration, trying to make sense of the Satrap's clipped phrases. Not quite following what Ahava was trying to say, Heraclea blurted out, "if you came up with something to make everyone less stressed then everyone might give you more respect." From the pups point of view, she could think of at least a hundred different things the pack could do for fun, but she also realised that if Ahava didn't start coming up with ideas soon she would never be included with the other satraps. There was a moment of quiet with only the sound of fat rain drops falling onto browning leaves. Heraclea noticed a distinct cooling of the air. The heat of summer was being chased away by autumn and the forest seemed to be changing in more ways than one.

Ajax poked his nose out of a bush, wriggling it as he tried to find others. Finally the familiar scent of Heraclea and Ahava reached him, though he stayed put. Something about their tones frightened him, and he didn't want to get caught up in the middle of something. Retreating quietly into the brush, he laid down out of sight and listened to the conversation. Was Ahava upset? But why? She was so nice all the time, who could ever upset her? Twitching his ears, the pup forced himself to lay still and just listen for the time being.

Lya pricked her ears as Ajax approached, although she didn't say anything through the duration of Heraclea and Ahava's bickering. She cut her eyes as the pup recoiled in the bushes, and gave a slight tip of the head to acknowledge his presence, and curled her lips in a poor attempt to say 'My lips are sealed,'.

"I... agree," Ahava sighed. Wow, this pup was assertive. "I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but maybe I should get involved with the other wolves? Talk to them a bit? Maybe that would make the pack... more connected? But what do you mean by fun?" Okay, the last question slipped out.

Heraclea nodded vigorously. "Yeah," she said, "make some friends with wolves in the pack." Ahava's last question confused the pup. "You know, fun? Just doing something together that's not urgent or anything just. . . for fun," she tried to explain. Like when she Usdi and Ajax had all gone on the adventure to bring the water back: it hadn't ended well, but they had fun doing it! Well, maybe not Ajax so much, but he was a stick in the mud anyway.

Lya kept quiet during the pups attempt at defining fun. After all, fun varied from wolf to wolf. The rain didn't seem to let up much, still soaking her to the bone and leaving her pelt sodden. She grumbled and flicked an ear at both Ahava and Heraclea, not making a motion towards Ajax so to not expose him from his hiding place in the brush.

"Oh, yeah. I know what you mean. Thanks, Heraclea," Ahava replied. More group activities. That can't be different from a good, real pack hunt. That seemed good. But then, noticing Lya, she added, a little guilty for not noticingor including her before, "Oh, Lya, I'm sorry. You don't... have to stay if you don't want to. Thank you so much anyway for coming to check up on me." And Ahava meant it, too.

Ajax froze when Lya looked at her, but his tensed muscles relaxed when she dipped her head. She wouldn't give him away. Taking a step back just to be safe, he laid down. Why did they have to check up on Ahava? What was happening? His ears flattened to his head, but he knew enough to not say anything. They would just make him go away.

"You're welcome," said Heraclea, her tail truly wagging now. She stood and puffed out her chest proudly, feeling happy with herself for helping Ahava. Maybe she was even ready to make up with Ajax. Deciding to go find her brother she said, "I'm going back to the cirlce of oaks, bye!" and dashed off, unaware of her brother lurking nearby.

Ahava smiled at Heraclea. "Okay. Bye, Heraclea. I'll see you later," she said just before the pup started off. Now it was just her and Lya. She was feeling a little bit better, though, because she had put her mind off of Yanah and on to what she will do.

"Er... uh, yeah, so that was exciting, to say in the least," Lya stuttered out to Ahava. The rain, although soothing before, became quiet a nuisance and left her shiver ridden and cold. "How about we go back to the oaks?" she proposed hopefully.

"Sorry about that... by the way," Ahava frowned for a second when Lya spoke, a little disappointed in herself as well. Surely that's what Lya meant? That that was a little too... much? But that still didn't mean it was something she would laugh about, though. And then, in response to Lya's second statement, "Yeah. That sounds great," she said, with a quick nod.

Ajax quickly backed out of the bushes, skittering on fallen leaves and flying towards the circle of oaks. He had to beat them back, though he would never out run Heraclea. He was troubled by everything he'd heard, but didn't know what to make of it.

Okay, it was hard not to miss the sound of crinkling leaves. Ahava looked arouind in surpirse, barely recognizing the blur that was Ajax until she put the small figure together. And once she did, she immediately began to worry. This pup... wasn't as mature as Heraclea. She quickly retraced what she had said, and hoped for the best that Ajax hadn't come when the situation was described to his sister. At least she didn't mention Yanah at all, though. "Lya... Do you know how long Ajax was here?" She asked, desprerately hoping the answer would be that Lya did know and that the pup did in fact come after she had described the incident to Heraclea.
