Thanatos wandered arround aimlessly. She was in the mood for exploration earlier and had wandered off, but now she was lost. She could tell she was out of her pack's territory, but she wasn't in another pack's. This is strange, she thought. Thanatos breathed in the scents of the unknown land. Is that...deer?!? She wondered.

Thanatos threw back her head and howled, allerting the others that there was something they should check out. She paced back and forth, waiting.

Apricus padded briskly towards Thanatos' howl, stepping on the overgrown vegetation with his large paws.

"Hey, Apricus! This is a pretty cool place. There are deer everywhere. It doesn't smell like it's part of Lycaon's territory, so maybe it's open territory." Thanatos called to the brown wolf.

"Maybe," Apricus replied with a small smile. He liked it here. The towering trees protected them from the snow and it almost felt warmer. Spotting a squirrle he instinctivly chased after it until he managed to catch it by its tail. Killing it quickly he brought it to Thanatos and dropped it at her paws.

"Nice catch." she complimented Apricus. She sat down and took a bite of the squirrel. "How have you been lately?"

"Why thank you," replied Apricus with a little bow. He found a comfortable patch of ground to settle on and thought about how to respond to Thanatos's question. Finally he responded by simply stating, "cold." Stretching out he continued, "the hunting has been bad lately. I hope spring comes soon."

Thanatos sighed. "I know what you mean. I guess the other animals are cold too, eh? This spring ought to bring good hunting." She said, sitting down next to Apricus. "I bet this place is where all the deer have been hiding."

Yanah ran into view, slowing to a halt and looking around suspiciously. "Why have you called me?" She asked sternly, then lowered her ears. She was a bit flustered; what if they smelled Helios on her? Could they tell just by looking at her? Anxiety always made her mean, which is why she had snapped. Trying to appear nonchalant, Yanah said, "No one is injured ...." Then she realized she didn't recognize the place. "Hold on, what is this place?" The Satrap inhaled deeply. It smelled like Kylarad, and they hadn't passed the border.

Andraste trotted into this new place and glanced around. She saw a frustrated Yanah, and chatting Thanatos and Apricus. She gave nods all around and came to stand a few feet away from Yanah, "Yeah what is this place?" She asked. Though the wind was blowing in the right direction for Yanah and Andraste couldn't smell anything out of the ordinary.

"I came across this place when I was exploring. It's crawling with deer of some sort, by the smell of it. I didn't notice before, but it smells a bit like Lycaon here. We haven't passed the border, have we?" Thanatos said. She could smell Lycaon, but the strange thing was that the smell was coming from Yanah's direction. She shrugged it off and took another bite of the squirrel Apricus had given her.

"I suppose we should claim it before Lycaon shows up," suggested Apricus. He scented Lycaon, too, but assumed Yanah had been patrolling the boarder.

"Good idea. Lycaon would definitely want this place; it's a potential hunting spot." Thanatos said, getting to her paws. She waited for Yanah's orders, though.

Yanah noticed them all sniffing and staring and felt her pelt grow hot. Mentally she squirmed, feeling very uncomfortable. They could smell it on her, yes now that she nosed her pelt the smell of Lycaon was all over her. Shoving down the insecurity she said, "Alright, let's claim this place. It is officially ours," she said, and left a marking of her own. Then she purposely moved downwind of all of them to sit under a tree. "I think I'll rest here and guard it for tonight. Don't worry about them stealing it, I'll be here," she lied. There was another agenda in mind tonight, but she needed to stay close to the border and make sure no one came looking for her. If they thought she was here, they mightn't look for her. Yanah looked away, trying to hide her face.

Apricus tipped his head to the side slightly. Yanah was acting odd. "Are you alright, Yanah?" he asked. The satrap seemed nervous for some reason and he wondered if she had encountered a problem with Lycaon while she was patrolling.
