Wohali edged nearer to the circle. When he got to his favorite tree, he sat down next to it and started thinking. He continued thinking for a long time.

Suddenly Yanah appeared between the two largest trees in the ring, coming from the direction of the Eagle's Nest area. Raising her eye brow questioningly in Wohali's direction, she entered the ring and settled in a patch of ferns flanking one of the larger oaks. A frond tickled her nose as she settled, and she sneezed, causing an eruption of pollen in the air around her. She swiped at the dust with a long pink tongue, coughing as it tickled her throat as well. Snuggling down deep into the soft plants, she rested her head on her paws and watched the clearing, her tail slightly waving.

Ahava curled up on the other side of the Circle of Oaks. She hadn't eaten all day, and she wasn't planning to any time soon, because she was too busy wondering how Wohali would feel about her if he had heard what she had whispered to him.

Wohali dipped his head at Yanah when he finally noticed her. He made a move to go greet Ahava but decided not to.

Ahava saw Wohali's sudden move towards her and then his hesitation. He does hate me, Ahava thought with a sigh. Well, I can't change his thoughts. I have to get used to it, because things just don't go my way all the time.

Ah forget it. If i never make peace with them, this will go on forever. Wohali padded toward Ahava confidently.

Ahava looked up at Wohali, and she spat out something that she had wanted to say this whole time- "I'm sorry, Wohali. I didn't mean to cause all this. I'm also sorry about the way I looked at you earlier" She then quickly glanced at the ground in embarrassment.

"Yeah, yeah, apology accepted, and im sorry for...whatever i did..Truce?" Wohali focused on a tree during his apology.

"Sure and...it's ok." Ahava replied. She was still staring at the ground, and she managed to force out a quiet sigh of relief. She wasn't hated anymore.

Yanah watched as Wohali hesitated, then made his way over to Ahava. She dipped her head, though neither were paying any attention. I believe they are growing up. We cannot stay young forever, yet may we all stay young at heart. Friends should not quarrel, no matter the other's breed. Lowering her head back onto her paws, she lifted her ears to catch their conversation.

"Yeah...Okay.." he paused awkwardly, "well...see you later." he trotted to his usual tree, sat down, and began thinking again.

"Okay" Ahava replied. She lifted her gaze off the ground and stared at the clear sky.

Yanah could not help but smile. All issues resolved themselves in the end. Patience was always a contributing factor, but these wolves had heart. Her eyes closed slowly to narrow slits, and she basked in the midday sun.
