"You learned a valuable lesson today. Thou shan't insult he who is meant to do the insulting." And he looked forward and began climbing again.

Yanah had still a long way to go when darkness fell. She managed to make it to a copse of trees before total blackness swallowed the day. Sitting next to a tree, she panted from the exertion of walking for hours. Crawling to a small brook trickling next to her, she lapped the cold water eagerly. Settling down, she fell into a light sleep, ears upright for the sound of approach.
************************************************************
Sunlight filtered through the trees and warmed her face, and she blinked her eyes open. Yanah squinted as she looked into direct sunlight, then stood. Drinking more water, she left the trees and trotted at a steady jog towards Mt. Unole. As she reached the peak of a hill, she could barely make out the tip of the mountain in the distance. Her hope strengthened, she continued on, running through fields of flowers and rocky patches. At noontide, she stopped panting for a break and some food. Not long after she was sitting eating a fat vole, when a curious coyote wandered up. Smelling the meat, the hungry brute growled and tried to look menacing, approaching the Satrap. Yanah rose to her full height and snarled in the coyote's face. Driven by hunger, it threw itself at her, jaws snapping. Sidestepping the crazy beast, she spun in her dodge and struck him with her paw as he flew past. Yelping, he tumbled to the ground then charged once more. This time he managed to get a paw hold on the wolf and swung onto her back. Using an old tactic, she rolled over, crushing him beneath her. Moving quickly she flipped over and grabbed its neck in her jaws. Swinging her head savagely, she released her hold and sent the creature flying. Sore and discouraged, the little animal scurried off whimpering. With a snort Yanah lay back down to finish her meal.

After trekking all day, Yanah had reached the mountain and was climbing it hastily, paws slipping on the loose rubble. On and in she climbed, until the clouds surrounded her and the air was cold. Slating rain fell, torrenting down the rocks like rapids. The dark clouds swirled ominously, wreathing the sky and casting shadows over the land. Everything that Yanah had felt over the past month came rushing back, and with one mighty breath she sent it forth in a howl, muzzle raised to the heavens. "What is wrong with me?!" She roared, matching the storm in volume. "I don't know what to do anymore! I'm so angry and sad and I don't know why! My pack needs me! Tell me what to do!" Just then a jagged lightning bolt ripped through the sky and touched down next to her, the force of the strike blasting her backwards. Rolling, she skidded to a stop on the edge of a preciepe, rear end dangling over the side. A voice e hoed in her head that was both gentle, yet firm. Be grateful for what you have, it seemed to say. And then she fell.

When Astra and Wohali finally reached the mountain top, it was pitch black. Astra settled down and closed her eyes. She wondered what Wohali would see. The four ancestors gently flew down from the sky. "Who is this? I've never seen her before." Growls Atsila. "She does not smell of pure red wolf blood." Observes Ugitsiha. Newadi nods. "She has made the long journey here, so we will respect her like anyone else. Tell me your name." "A-Astra." "Ahh" Muses Newadi. "Star in Greek, correct?" Astra nods. Unitsila murmurs "What is it you wish to know?" "What does my future look like?"Asks Astra. "Well, we can't tell you that, but we will tell you that one you hate right now, will become the closest friend to you eventually." says Newadi. The four wolves nod and float off. Astra gets up and sits by the ledge, staring at the view below, waiting for Wohali.

Wohali opens one eye, hearing Astra get up beside him. For one moment he saw nothing but darkness. The next, he saw something like a glimmer of light, but it quickly faded. He felt something like fear. The wolf shook his head rapidly, blinked, and the next moment he was back on a mountain, next to Astra. Weird dream. he thought.

Astra stares at him. "Are you okay?" she asked. "You seem pretty shaken up."

Wohali stretched and replied, "Nah, nothing wrong. I just thought we were supposed to get weird visions around here. But would should we expect from dead wolves anyway? It's probably just one big hoax." He scratched his ear and slowly began making his way down the mountain.

Dynata slowly made her way up the mountain, following the stale scents of wolves that had trekked here before. She knew she wasn't welcome but she didn't care. She'd never seen a mountain before and was intruiged by its height. She wanted to see what the top was like. Hopping over a rock, her face slammed into a boulder and she snarled at her own stupidity and reminded herself to watch where she was walking. Ocasionally, she stopped to get a drink from a puddle or snatch up a mouse for a quick snack, but by the time the moon was bright overhead, she had made it to the peak. She sat on the very edge, looking down the mountain in awe. She'd never seen anything more beautiful. She considered going back down, but decided to wait 'till morning to avoid tripping and stumbling down the steep mountain. Just as she was about to curl up and go to sleep, a wolf appeared in front of her. She was about to take a step back, then remembered she was standing on the edge of what looked to be a hundred foot drop. "Why are you here?" the wolf spat, glaring at Dynata as if she were scum. "I...I, um." She stammered, unsure of what to say. She shook herself and looked at the wolf. "I wanted to see the top of this think. It's just so tall..." The wolf looked at her for a long time, then seemed to disappear. Dynata woke up, abruptly, and leaped to her paws, looking around quickly. "Weird dream..." she muttered to herself. It was bright in the day now and she began making her way down the mountain.

Noquisi lay at the top of the mountain, hoping to get some sign from the spirits that lived there. "Hello?" she whispered, voice trembling. "I haven't been okay lately... I don't have a reason to be here other than to just get away for a while, though." she sighed, laying her head down on a slab of moss. "I may need to just rest here... for a bit..." she mumbled, eyes drooping down. A shimmer of water trickled from a stream to her left, and a half eaten rabbit had been her meal earlier. With a full stomach and a warm shelter, Noquisi fell into the fittest sleep she had ever had before, the nightmares that often plagued her gone for the time being.

After resting for a while, Noquisi realized she couldn't hide from her family much longer, and decided to head back. Tail wagging slightly, eyes bright, smile widened, Noquisi was much happier now that she had traveled to the resting place of her ancestors, and she began her trek back home.

Vilk padded up to the mountain's base. He looked up at it with awe. He began padding up. Honestly, he had nothing better to do. Nothing had happened in so long, so that wont changes anytime soon. The black coated wolf looked around as he slowly made his way up the mountain side. His plan was to go to the top and stay there. Perhaps for a minute or two, perhaps for and hour. Maybe even a day or a week. He truly had nothing better to do.
Three days later, Vilk began his decent. The trip home always seems faster. By the time the sliver of moon was in the sky, he was back in Kylarad territory.

Hamenos stared up at the mountain's peak in wonder. It was beautiful. Wanting to explore it, he trekked up the long mountain and sat on the top, looking down. It sure was a long ways down... A thought came to his mind at that moment. A very unpleasent thought. What if I were to jump off? Would nothing change? So he did. He free fell for a while, then hit the mountain side and rolled. His bones snapped and blood trailed behind him. Eventually he reached the base, dead as a doornail. And, you know what? Nothing seemed to change at all.
