"Yes. . . " Eos replied to her daughter while eyeing the other wolf with some suspicion. She adopted a protective stance between Cyanea and the stranger while still trying to seem mildly friendly and open to this wolf. He seemed nice enough even though he had a funny way of speaking and a limp, but she knew better than to trust anyone.
"M-my name's C-c-claudius," Claudius introduced himself, mentally cursing his mother for giving him such a difficult name to pronounce. Taking note of the she-wolf's protective stance he backed up a little, not wanting to cause any trouble. "W-who are you? Ar-are you n-n-n-new here?" he asked the two.
Eos went to respond, but as usual Cyanea beat her to it.

Cyanea looked at Claudius, then back at her mother. "We are new here! How did you know?" she said, her eyes lighting up with sudden interest. She took a few steps towards Claudius. In a way, Claudius intrigued the pup with the way he walked. "If you don't mind me asking.... Why do you walk like that?" Cyanea asked, tilting her head quizzically.

Claudius blinked and looked down at his paws as the pup bombarded him with questions. This was a bad idea, a very bad idea. The shy wolf had half a mind to flee from the situation, but something about the pup's blue eyes made him stay. She was genuinely interested in what he had to say. She wasn't making fun of him or condemning him. She was simply curious. Hadn't he also been curious at that age? With slightly more confidence Claudius looked the pup in the eye and said, "I-I knew you were new b-because I haven't seen you bef-fore. I walk f-f-funny because w-w-when I was your age I got s-s-s-sick." Talking about his past always made him feel uncomfortable, weak and pathetic. He wished she hadn't asked.
Eos could tell that the wolf was bothered by Cyanea's questions but couldn't help but feel pity towards him. He was no threat to them, but one could never be too careful. "Alright, Cyanea. I think that's enough questions for today. How about we go see if we can find our new den?" she redirected the pup, nudging her gently with her nose.

"Okay, momma. I'm sorry for asking you so much, Claudius," Cyanea said quietly, going in the direction her mother had nudged her in. "Where are we going anyway? How far is it from here?" Cyanea asked Eos.

"It's okay," Claudius mumbled before shuffling off back to his spot.
"We're going to find our new dens," Eos replied to the pup. "It shouldn't be too far from here," she added.
Pandora, who had been lurking nearby and spying on the two decided at that point to reveal herself. She swaggered up to them and said in a lazy drawl, "the den that you two will share is over there." She pointed towards the forest on the left with her tail boredly. The forest had been far too peaceful for far too long and it was starting to get under her skin. Her devious mind twirled as the dark furred wolf thought about her rivalry with Kylarad and how to stir up trouble with them.

Pandora startled Cyanea at first. But after she pointed out their new dens, the young pup immediately bounded towards it. She then realized that she had left her mother behind. So, Cyanea stopped and waited for Eos to catch up. That way, they could both see their new den together.

Eos cocked her head suspiciously at the black she-wolf. Pandora had yet to give her any reason for distrust, but she didn't like how the wolf always seemed to be hanging around in the shadows. It was a bit disconcerting to the mother and her instincts were on high alert.
Pandora made note of Eos' expression and her amber eyes flashed red for a second as the sunlight glinted off them. Eos was a wolf she could work with given the proper leverage. A mother wolf would do anything to protect her young, as she had learned quite well from her experiences with Yanah. Yes, there was something to this scenario, she could feel it, she just hadn't quite put together what yet. . .
Eos saw the flash of red in Pandora's eyes and took an involuntary step backwards before realising that Cyanea was waiting for her. Finally, she tore her eyes away from the black wolf and caught up with her daughter.
(I guess we should make a new thread now?)
