Yanah trudged along behind the group, her gaze drifting between Emiko and Lya. They were going to screw this up with their squabbling and ruin Usdi's first hunt. Allowing the others to take a head start, she circled in behind the elk looking for an opening. At last it's flank presented itself to her, prompting the Satrap to leap at it and sink her teeth in. The metallic taste of blood coated her tongue, coaxing her into biting harder and ripping flesh from bone. She hadn't been on a hunt in a while, so now it was a bit of a frenzy.
Ajax watched next to his sister, observing the ordeal with round eyes. He tried to soak up every image, to memorize every body posture and attack. After all, he wanted to be able to do it flawlessly, just like they were doing now.

Lya's glare caught Emiko's eye and she turned to look. Pausing before attacking was Emiko's mistake, for she was caught in the side by a stray hoof, the air whooshing out of her body and throwing her down on the ground. Emiko dragged herself to her paws, wheezing painfully, struggling to stand, let alone continue running. Tears clouding her vision, Emiko let the others run ahead while her insides burned with the fires of hatred and physical pain. Hoping to channel her fury at being left behind, Emiko stared at Lya, claws digging into the dry dirt.
Noquisi, being on the other side of the elk, missed watching Emi being thrown down by the hoof, so she had no clue that her packmate was no longer with them. Noquisi nudged Usdi closer into the fray, motioning with her ears at the right back leg. Taking down the elk was easier if it couldn't run.
Usdi took the hint, throwing himself at the animal's leg, knocking it off balance. A couple more tries would have the elk scrambling to stay upright, so he continued, clawing and snapping the entire time.

As the elk shifted Yanah caught sight of Emiko lagging behind. Reluctantly she let go, licking blood off her teeth. Hesitantly she approached the young Tiritus, her eyes glazed with concern. "Are you alright?" She asked, tilting her head.

Right as Emiko fell did Lya notice. She was about to go an offer help but it appeared that Yanah and Noquisi had beaten her to it. Oh, well. She was in better hands with those two, anyway. If anything, she would kill Emiko before helping her. Just to show she didn't hate her, she shot a concerned glance at the wolf. There, she didn't completely hate her, right? Honestly, she couldn't answer that question, herself. Did she really carry a hatred for her? She deterred herself away from such thoughts by continuing to attack the elk.
Taking another quick lunge at the animals leg, which was now bleeding beyond use, she ripped out some fur and some skin, resulting in a small amount of blood loss, but enough to render the animals leg useless. The animal began to stumble, and probably knew that it's lifetime has been severed.

Emiko shook dirt out of her eyes, furious. "I'm fine." She mumbled to Yanah, shrugging her off. "Go back and kill the elk. I just need time to rest." She grumbled, limping away to sit in the shadows of the trees.
Usdi hit the elk one last time, sending the poor creature reeling. But this time, the elk couldn't keep its balance, and it fell to the ground with a sickening thud, sprawled out against the dirt.

Yanah glanced over her shoulder at the pack. The elk was nearly dead- they could handle it. She shook dirt out of her fur, then stubbornly followed Emiko. She remained standing a few feet away from the younger wolf, raising an eyebrow. "Pouting never solved anything the last time I checked," she said languidly, half leader half friend. It was about time someone ended this sherade, and it was just going to have to be her it appeared. Swishing her tail once to scare away curious flies, she murmured, "Tell me what's wrong." She already had a good idea, but it was better to hear both sides first.

ooc; Noquisi was never over with Emiko. She was with Usdi on the opposite side of the elk. Sorry if I was unclear.
Emiko sighed, watching the others. "Lya. That's what's wrong. She's all angry at me because... because... I don't even know why!" Emiko exclaimed, growing fed up with the whole matter. "Ever since I went to the clearing with Kaeso..." She trailed off, a sudden realization hitting her. Emiko's eyes narrowed. "That's why. She's mad that I stole her 'love.'" Scratching marks into the dirt, Emiko looked at Yanah. "I guess I can't go to you for help because you've known love and how it feels for it to be ripped away." She guessed, remembering Apricus.
ooc; I still can't believe that he died.

Yanah flicked an ear in dismissal, listening quietly as she realized it on her own. "This is going to be hard, but try to see it from her perspective," she said, laying down with her head raised. "A wolf who has put her pack in front of her, the pack before she even thinks about herself, has found someone she believes she loves. Now, unexpectedly, that one thing she allows herself is gone," she murmured gently, her voice soothing. "I'm not asking you to give him up. I'm asking you to forgive her of her short comings. It wasn't meant to be- and while she's figuring that out, you must be patient with her." The Satrap stretched her paws out, wiggling her toes for good measure. As Emiko mentioned her own love life she stiffened, her eyes glazing over as she was lost in a memory. "Oh yes I can." Her voice was barely a whisper as memories of Helios, not Apricus, ran through her mind. She hadn't gotten enough time with him- and yet she'd pulled herself together and lead her pack. Silently Yanah mouthed his name, not really under the trees with Emiko, but pulling Helios out of the bushes at the Secret Wood when his fur had gotten stuck.

Ahava, who missed the hunt because she couldn't find a place to scqueeze in, continued to watch the other wolves. Ynah was talking to Emi, and Usdi just brought the elk. She was sure the new Novus must feel some pride, though. It was his first hunt after all.

Emiko frowned, clearly agitated. "Forgiven." She muttered under her breath, just loud enough for Yanah to hear. Emiko shifted her eyes from scouring into the ground to lock with Yanah's, a look of the utmost seriousness and political tone. "But she needs to lay off me first. I will not tolerate her glaring because something she happened to have feelings for likes someone else. Kaeso chose me and she has to deal with it." Pausing to choose the right words, Emiko continued this calm look about her. "Unless she wants me to give him over. I am her friend, and I would do that for her. Just tell me to give the word, and I will hand him over." She said, standing up. "I need to go finish something. Goodbye, and tell Usdi congrats for me, will you? Thanks." She said, padding calmly away.
Turning around, Emiko lowered her head to Yanah's height, pursing her lips. "We all have our secrets, Yanah. Lya doesn't need to know about this conversation. I'm sure you'll find it... A fitting price." She said, padding away.

Yanah was shaken roughly out of her memories as Emiko began talking. "I can make no promises, but I'll at least talk to her," she said, still slightly depressed. However, she was distracted as the she wolf turned and threatened her. A growl ripped through her throat, feral and unsettling. "I don't know what you're implying, but I invite you to even think about doing anything." Her voice lowered as she snarled, "I will rip your throat out." Helios was one of the only joys she had in this world, and Emiko was threatening to out their love to the rest of the pack. Needless to say, that made her angry. Rising, she left the cover of the trees and returned to the dead elk, her fur on end.

After a while of more watching, something hit Ahava. Both Satraps were feeling bad now, and Emiko was at the scene for both of them. No, maybe it's some private business since they're also Satraps, she countered, but shook her head. Lya couldn't lookat Emiko at first, and now, after a discussion with the very same wolf, Yanah's fur was now bristling on end. I have to talk to Yanah. She shifted her paws with her final decision. What iof she caught her at the wrong time? Nevertheless, she approached her fellow Satrap. "Um... Yanah?" She asked softly.

Yanah turned slowly, her eye twitching in agitation. She didn't want to scare Ahava off, seeing as was so reserved, but her temper had been flared. "What?" She asked, trying not to snap. Her vision was tinted red- Emiko had made her that mad.

Heraclea watched as the elk fell. "Wow," she breathed. Then, turning to her brother said, "I can't wait for our first hunt."

((Sorry for late post, I've been procrastinating due to the board making ordeal and crap.))
Lya's ears pricked as Ahava walked towards an angry Yanah. Something bad had happened, she could tell. Another reason to get rid of Emiko. It was one thing about Kaeso. Nobody else was concerned with that and it didn't really matter enough to chase the female off. But angering other pack members? Outrageous. Never would she get away with that. Ahava seemed to be taking care of the matter, so she took out her anger on the elk looming before her. With an inviting glance to Usdi beforehand, she ripped into the animals stomach cavity. Her muzzle was covered in blood afterwards, but it brought out her inner savage and made her rip out some more, until she was fully satisfied. She stepped back and waited for everybody else to eat.
