ooc; ok, thx Apricus sighed then said, "Well, if Yanah is done swimming then lets get this over with." He stood and lapped a few tongue fulls of water up from the creek, switching his mindset from 'nap' to 'hunt'.

Yanah nodded in agreement. Turning to the Novus, she asked, " Where do you think would be a good place to hunt today?" She was slightly evaluating him, but she also had not been around the territory yet today and wasn't sure where the local herd was at the moment.

Apricus mulled this over, "The Oak circle?" he said uncertainly.

Lya decided to offer her input on this and replied "Usually the deer won't go around there, they smell wolf-scent. I think that possibly that the herd would be somewhere secluded or something, like the small pond."

"It's alright," Yanah intoned, then walked towards the small pond, dripping water the whole way.

Apricus heaved himself over the cliff face and onto solid ground. Standing, he helped Astra up after him. "You know, the water here might be moving too fast for ducks. Let's try Myth Lake," He suggested.

Yanah reached the creek at a quick jaunt, tongue lolling to the side. As she reached the edge she sneezed, sending pollen from the Lilacs scattering. Swiping a paw at her nose, she jumped over the creek. Paws touching down, Yanah slowed her pace and angled her nose into the breeze, inhaling. The wet furry smell of a vole reached her nostrils. She crouched, stalking along the edge of the bank. A small hole sat just off the water, scrabbling sounds rising from it. Gently she lowered her body to the ground waiting. After a while the fat vole poked his head out. Reacting fast she swiped her paw at it, the momentum carrying the little creature out of the hole. Not wasting any time she pounced on it delivering a swift bite to the neck. Satisfied she sat up and began eating.

Yanah finished her meal and rose, shaking dust from her pelt. It was a sunny day, a perfect time for a nap in the sun. Thoroughly enjoying the warm breeze the Satrap walked towards the Circle of Oaks.

Apricus arrived at Elk Run Creek just in time to watch Yanah leave. He padded up to the stream and stopped to lap up some of the cool water. Once he was finished he shot an apprehensive glance at the darkening sky. Oh how he hated the rain. Apricus shook his head to clear it and decided to catch something to eat later while he waited out the rain. He prowled quietly through the forest, an effort made more difficult as the leaves were beginning to fall. After a while he spotted a fat squirrle collecting nuts to store for the winter. Completely absorbed by its task it didn't even notice the brown wolf stalking it. Apricus got into position and threw himself at the squirrle, but it darted away just before he could get his paws on it. The chase was on. The squirrle dove through the forest nimbly while Apricus' large paws got tangled in the roots. It wasn't long before the squirrle's bushy tail vanished up a nearby tree. Apricus made a growling sound at the back of his thorat in annoyance and returned to the creek.
