Katie was satisfied for the moment, not wanting to push things too far. "Uh... Jack and I... We got Fry a couple years ago..." She began, finding it hard to continue. "My dad was never big on presents, but... After a while, he began showering us with gifts. It was sorta cool, but really depressing at the time." She said, not knowing what else to say.

"Huh, life hasn't been too kind to either of us. That's why we have to stick together," Talia murmured. Having removed the deer from the fire, she placed some more wood on and turned to Katie. "We'd best get some sleep; we need to move quickly in the morning. I'll take the first shift and wake you in four hours," she said, cocking her pistol and leaning back against the tree. It was her own subtle way of saying 'I don't want to talk anymore' without being rude. If they didn't take watches, they'd die pretty fast.

"Took you long enough," scoffed Josh as he pushed his way forward first. At the top of the stairs was an empty door frame in bad need of a paint job. Through the doorway was the flat roof of a building. It was completely unremarkable, as roofs go, but it would be a decent place to spend the night. "Did anyone help Robin?" he asked, turning back to look at the group.

Mat looked around. "I didn't... But i can!" Mat rushed down the steps. "Hey, Robin, this way." Mat was ready to help Robin up.

Jack, happy that Mat was taking care of Robin, stepped out onto the roof. "Alright. Pick a spot and that'll be your bed." He joked, sitting down on a large metal box.
Katie nodded, settling down. Soon, Fry snuggled into her arms, and Katie fell asleep with the flames heating her.

Talia watched her for a moment, wondering how she could sleep so easily in the apocalypse. It was a blessing she supposed, envying her. A movement in the trees caused her to go tense, only to relax when she saw that it was just a raccoon. Those she could handle. Zombies? Not as easy.

Once Katie was sure Talia thought she was asleep, Katie rolled over in her "bed" and began sobbing silently. She had done this every night since the apocalypse and wasn't about to stop.

Robin nodded and smiled to all the hellos. Then she tilted her head slightly when she heard the jiggling of the lock. Hmm they most have found something safer. She thought moving slightly closer to the stairs. Then rolling her eyes at the Doctor's comment, if it was so easy why didn't he just do it? But a surprised expression crossed her face when he mentioned her name. Most would have brushed her off but did that mean she could stay with them for a while? Whatever it ended she would take the kindness while she could. Moving closer so took a few steps before hearing Matt's happy voice. "Right," She smiled up at him and taking steps up the stairs. It wasn't that hard after the first two. But still once she was close enough to Matt she placed a hand on his shoulder to steady herself. "Thanks," She said as the two continued up the steps.

Talia watched her shoulders heave and decided she was just dreaming. Silently she observed the fire reflecting on her pistol, thinking about how awful it would be to use it on a person. Even if that person was undead and trying to eat her.

"Okay, we're here." Mat said as he lead Robin through the door frame. "So... Why are we sleeping on the roof? Surely there's a better place?"

Josh considered Mat's question and finally said, "there's only one stair case to get up here and I figure only two people can get through that door at a time. It'll be easy enough to defend if the infected decide to come after us." Satisfied with his explination he found a spot that seemed slightly more comfortable than the others and sat with his back against the railing of the roof.

Feeling Koda leave her side to sniff out the area she turned to Matt with a smile. "Thanks!" before turning to the area where Josh should be. "Does the door lock from this side? That might be helpful." It might be better if for someone if they fall asleep, a little extra protection is always welcomed.

Jack nodded, motioning to the doorway. "You guys sleep. I'll stand guard. And, I think the door does lock, but I won't. The lock won't do anything for us; the infected will easily bash the door in." He said, sitting down at the door way, resting his head against the wall.
Katie sat up, blinking. She wasn't going to sleep tonight. But, the fire was so warm and nice, that she stared at it, warming her body semi-happily.

Mat laid against the wall. "You're welcome, Robin. Hey Jack, if you wanna sleep sometime in the middle of the night, wake me up. I'll take the shift. Goodnight. Don't let the infected bite." With that the boys closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Josh might have volunteered for watch, or he might not have, but we'll never know because he was already sound asleep by the time watches were assigned.
